When my buddies at Carbon VFX said they needed some custom, hand-drawn lettering –– to be used as Vegas-style, 3D signage in an animated cash explosion... I got right to work. Starting with thumbnail sketches, I worked closely with ACD Rob Foster to develop dozens of initial concepts for signage layout. After the sketching phase was complete and an initial direction was chosen, I created finished illustrations for client approval. Then the real fun began, converting all of my designs into vector splines so that the talented 3D artists were able to work some serious magic and finalize the modeling, lighting, texturing, animating and compositing work. They put on an absolute masterclass and turned my designs into a fully realized piece.
